Not to be outdone, Jefferson often practiced over 3 hours as a young man. He loved playing festive music at parties, and made sure both his daughters also played music.
Tired of carrying around his heavy violin case, he invented his own "narrow, portable fiddle" to make it
easier to practice when traveling.
Though we don't know what he sounded like, we can listen
to one of his favorite pieces he used to play, a set of
variations by Corelli.
